How to Use Upcoming Bills
Track every recurring bill, mark each payment's status,
and auto-sync to a backup file.
🗓️
Date Range
Filter, track status, save ranges
1
Opens by default every launch. Defaults to the current month.
2
Set From and To dates, tap Show Bills →.
3
Every occurrence is listed individually — bi-weekly bills show each Friday hit — with a grand total at the bottom.
4
Tap Reset next to the date inputs to clear From/To and start fresh.
💡
Spanning multiple months? Monthly bills show once per month; bi-weekly bills show every occurrence in the range.
Status Tracking
Charged · Paid · Cleared
1
Each payment in the date range has three checkboxes: Charged, Paid, Cleared.
2
They cascade: tapping Cleared auto-checks Charged + Paid. Unchecking earlier ones unchecks later ones.
3
Status is tracked per occurrence — May 1 Gas and May 15 Gas are independent. Status persists when you revisit the same date range.
4
Use the filter pills (All / Unpaid / Paid · not cleared / Cleared) to narrow results.
5
Cleared rows fade out and the total bar splits into cleared vs outstanding.
⚠️
Clear all status ✕ wipes checkmarks for the currently shown date range only — never touches other ranges.

3
Tap the on a pill to remove it from saved ranges (status data is untouched).
📋
My Bills
Add, edit, and manage your recurring bills
1
Fill in name, day, amount, category, and recurrence then tap + Add Bill.
2
Tap any bill card to expand an edit panel — change any field and tap Save.
3
Every 2 Weeks: set a start date (first Friday). Annually: pick the month, day is used each year. One-time: pick a single due date — the bill auto-disappears from My Bills the day after it's due (still searchable in Date Range).
⚠️
Bills due within 7 days show an amber badge and warning banner.
☁️
Auto-sync (Chrome / Edge desktop)
Link a backup file once, save automatically
1
Tap the Auto-sync off banner under the title. A modal opens with two choices.
2
Pick existing bills.json — opens the file and auto-syncs every change to it from now on. Use this on a second device pointed at the same file (e.g. iCloud Drive).
3
Create new bills.json — choose a folder and filename. The app writes your current data there immediately, then on every change after.
4
Banner is green when connected, orange when paused (after browser restart — tap Reconnect), or dashed when off.
💡
After a browser restart, the banner shows paused. Tap Reconnect once and Chrome re-grants permission — then it stays connected for that session.
📥
Manual Save & Load
For iPhone and unsupported browsers
iPhone — Chrome
1
Tap ⬇ Save. Chrome downloads automatically.
2
In Chrome tap ⋯ → Downloads, find bills.json, tap & hold → Share → Save to Files → iCloud Drive folder.
MacBook Air — Edge
1
Use auto-sync above instead — much easier. Otherwise: edge://settings/downloads"Ask me what to do with each download", then tap ⬇ Save.
Loading on either device
1
Tap ⬆ Load, navigate to your iCloud Drive folder, select bills.json.
💡
Bills auto-save in the browser as you work. Save/Load is only needed for transferring data when auto-sync isn't available.

Paycheck Calculator
Optional · per paycheck cycle
1
Switch to the Calc tab. It uses whatever dates are currently set on the Range tab.
2
Enter Paycheck (deposits to Wells Fargo), Fuel reimbursement (3rd party → CashApp), and Starting CashApp balance. Bills total and haircut are pulled automatically.
3
Calculator shows: keep in WF = bills − haircut · WF → CashApp = paycheck − WF needed · Ending CashApp = starting + WF transfer + fuel.
4
If your paycheck is short, the WF → CashApp number goes negative red meaning you'd transfer FROM CashApp into WF instead.
5
Add a memo for context. Save the date range first (Range tab → + Save current), then tap Save snapshot — results + memo persist with that range.
💡
Saved ranges with snapshots show a green dot. The memo also appears as a yellow card above the bill list when that range is loaded.
